The Alps are a fantastic area for ski touring with very varied terrain. A network of manned huts eliminates the need to carry large heavy packs. The main ski touring season in the Alps generally runs from March until May. Depending on weather and ground conditions, ski tourers can enjoy great skiing on powder or corn snow.
Ski touring in Patagonia … Patagonia offers numberless ski touring options. The Lake District area around Bariloche is famous for its stunning views such as on Cerro Lopez, or the skiing trough the Granit needles at Frey mountain hut. Patagonia still offers some wild, almost unexplored areas with glaciers that reach down to the sea like for example in El Chalten, in the southern part of Patagonia.
