Are you ready to slow down and explore nature in quiet, uncrowded places? Then keep on reading:

The mountains surrounding the Chamonix Valley offer some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe. Imposing Granit needles, several glaciers, vast open high alpine pastures with wild flowers and mountain peaks within walking distance. Always in sight the gigantic Mont Blanc 4810m, looming in the background.

There is no better way to experience these wonders of nature than to be out in the wild enjoying the glorious alpine sunrises and sunsets. Our mountain camping trips allows you to do this and you will love it!

Wild camping is essentially camping outside of campsites and is all about getting away from the bustling alpine towns and taking yourself away into the mountain wilderness to spend time truly alone with the world.

Itineraries for our Mountain Camping & Hiking Chamonix options
Day 1: Cascade de Bérard, Glacier Tré les Eaux

We discover a very wild and untouched valley today. Our hike starts at the Le Buet train satation in Vallorcine. After less than an hour we can already see the Bérard waterfalls and the water pools in the river bead. Changing directions here we now go up the Tré les Eaux valley that leads us of the bottom of a small glacier that remained in the shades of Buet mountain. Many small green fields filled with flowers, big boulder rocks and creeks invite us to set our tents for tonight.

Day 2: Col de la Terrasse, Alpage Loriaz

After a good breakfast we pack up the tents and walk up to a high plateau where Lac Vert is nestled. A crystal clear mountain lake. On to Col de la Terrasse with splendide views over the whole Mont Blanc range and the Swiss Valais.

After our picknick we walk down on a steep trail to the green alpine pastures of Alpage de Loriaz. This is an inviting place for a rest, before heading back down to Le Buet.

  • +500m, – 1300m, 5hrs
Meeting point

We meet at Le Buet train station near the Village of Vallorcine up the Valley from Chamonix. The tour ends there as well. Take the train from Chamonix or Martigny.

Day 1: Servoz – Pormenaz Lake

From the little mountain village Servoz, at the foot of Mont Blanc we saddle our packs and walk trough fields filled with flowers and nice decorated Savoy Chalets into the forest. Now our trail leads high above the Diosaz George and steady up the mountains to the Pormenaz Chalets.

This Alpage is home to over 1000 sheep in summer. We’re right opposite Mont Blanc and the view couldn’t be more impressive. We enjoy our pick nick here and keep on going up until we reach our destination for the night. A dream spot! Have a swim in the lake, take the breath taking view in and enjoy this quiet and wild place.

  • +1200m, – 180m, 6hrs
Day 2: Lac Vert, Servoz

It’s hard to leave this wonderful spot! A nice walk down to the Gouet Alpage and a perfect pick nick spot at the Green lake are our plan today. We finish our hike passing trough typical farms and old wooden houses decorated with flowers. Now our loop hike comes to an end and we take the train back home.
